When you pull up your vinyl stencil pull it up against the grain of the wood.

To see how long it takes to get a paint surface that will withstand pulling off the vinyl test greater dry times overnight doesn t work for you so go at 24 hrs 36 hrs 48 hrs on 3 samples or 3 spots on the same sample piece and see when the paint is fully cured.
Stencil vinyl or any other type of vinyl will work too transfer tape weeding tool and burnishing tool acrylic paint brush wood board.
By taking your time and starting with a perfectly clean surface you can end up with a paint job that will look nice and not compromise the integrity of your siding.
When paint is set it isn t shiny anymore but is not completely dry.
